The Indian Sousson Pata Sword is characterized by the down curving blade, similar to the Turkish Yataghan blade, probably both share the same old father. This one has a heavy blade with a strong T spine and deadly sharp, 27 inches long, forged from very fine black wootz steel with high contrast pattern. The handle is a Tulwar style handle, whole steel with D guard, lavishly decorated with good heavy gold koftgari work. Total length 33 inches. Original scabbard with original red velvet cover. Very good condition. A very fine 19C. vintage sword.
