 Classical Syrian Jambiya dagger, circa 1950, made in the Druze village of Magdal Shams (Tower of the sun) in the Golan Heights, the area of dispute between Israel and Syria. Curved short blade, 7 inches long finely etched with Arabic inscription.  The handle made from layers and mosaics pieces of horn, bone, mother of pearl and brass in intricate geometrical design.  Engraved brass scabbard. Total length 12  inches. Very good condition.  Very minor losses on the handle mosaic.     |
