This kard knife is Persian, Zand Dynasty, second half of the 18 C. Big dimensions. Heavy Wootz blade. Wootz bolsters and grip strap, finely chiseled and decorated with true gold inlay panels with inscription in Arabic letters. Massive walrus grips. Blade 11 ½ inches, total length 15 inches. Very good condition. Original polish and etch of the steel. This Kard comes with a later, early 20 C. velvet covered scabbard. Very fine and impressive kard.
