Silver mounted Jambiya dagger from Afghanistan. This type of Jambiya is often wrongly identified as Arabic. The shape of the hilt and the scabbard rings for belt attachment has some similarities to the Wahabi Jambiya from the Arabian Peninsula, hence the reason for the misidentification. However, the Afghani Jambiya will usually be shorter than its Arabian sister, and mostly will have a good Persian wootz blades with deeper curvature than the Wahabi one. This one has a wootz blade, a black Rhino horn hilt and chased silver fittings.
