Up for sale this 19 C. fine Ottoman / Balkan (probably Albanian) Jambiya dagger. Blade of earlier period, probably early 18 C. 10 inches long forged from low contrast watered steel. Long handle cut entirely from a single piece of walrus ivory with extended pommel and cross guard corners, a shape attributed to Albania. Wood scabbard covered with silver with filigree work proof marked on the back. Total length 17 ½ inches (in scabbard). Very impressive item.
