This type of knife / dagger is called “PIHA KAHETTA”, and it is the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). This fine and very rare specific example has an 8 inches blade inlaid with silver decoration. Heavy highly decorative silver bolsters. The grip is carved from black coral (very rare) . Original scabbard with silvered copper mount. This Piha comes with the side steel and brass stylus. Total length is 14 inches. Very good condition. Minor pitted spots.
