This set of armor is Persian, Qajar, late 19 C. It comprises of a shield (Dahl) and helmet (Kula Kud). All made of steel, finely chiseled and decorated with silver and gold koftgari work. A face image (also known as Devil head) in the shield center and four around the helmet. Shield 18 inches wide. Helmet 8 ½. Good condition. Repair on the top spike of the helmet. Losses to the silver koftgari work on the shield and to the silver and gold on the helmet. Light pitting on the helmet. Helmet mail partially damaged.
