Very Fine Caucasian set of Bebut Dagger and Gaziri Cartridges - 11490


This very fine set includes a small curved dagger (Bebut) and two sets of Gaziri cartridges (four each), very finely enameled with gold and deep blue colored. The blade of the Bebut is 6 ½ inches long with off centered fullers. The handle is silver with fine enameled work on the front side and niello decoration on the rear side and on the scabbard mounts. It is dated to 128 (Standing for 1280, 1863 in the Gregorian calendar). The Gaziri cartridges are fine wood with very fine enameled top covers. Very good condition. The size and number of cartridges suggests it is a set made for a youngster. Very Very rare and fine set.
