This fine gun is aToradar an Indian Matchlock gun, probably late 18 to early 19 C. Heavy ribbed barrel 48 inches with a finely chiseled muzzle. The barrel is forged from twisted steel (however the pattern is not visible). Carved hard wood stock with ivory butt. The barrel is bound to the stock with bands of leather strips (restored). Total length 67 inches. Very good condition. Minor age cracks but it holds very solid. The figure 1829 stamped on the stock is NOT a date but rather an armory catalog number.
