We offer here for sale a Barongs sword with heavy leaf shaped blade, known to have superior cutting abilities. It is a good Moro Barong, from early 20 C. with a 19 inches blade, (longer than the usual 14 inches blades). And with a swollen cross section. The hilt is carved from a beautiful grained wood in a very classical form, with a long Nickel/Silver collar and three braided rattan bands. The scabbard is wood bound with three Rattan bands. The head and the tip of the scabbard are set with a beautifully pierced and engraved plates of Mother of Pearl (MOP). Very good plus condition. Minor areas of pitting on the blade and a small part of the MOP plate is missing. Altogether a very impressive piece of weaponry.
