Rare Sword from Toraja, Sulawesi, Indonesia - 11481

We offer for sale this rare sword coming from Toraja (The central mountainous region of Sulawesi). It is locally called: Dua Lalan meaning dual purpose, to describe its use, both for war time and for ceremonial slaughtering of Buffalo. It has a 19 inches blade, well forged from fine pamor steel, a black horn handle with fine carving and wood scabbard bound with rattan. Total length 27 inches.
