Silver Mounted Jambiya from Kurdistan - 6190

A beautiful Jambiya Dagger from Kurdistan. The blade is 8-½ inch long (point to point) curved and double edge with a central rib. The hilt is “I” shaped cut from black horn. An old silver coin is used as disk for the tang rivet, but it is too worn to identify. The scabbard is made of chased and engraved silver in a typical Kurd style and set with two rows of small turquoise stones. Total length in scabbard is 15 inches. Good condition. Good blade with very minor pitting. This is an authentic and old late 19th Century piece in very good shape and condition and a treasured addition to any collection of oriental weapon.
