Up for sale is this early, 18C. or earlier, very good “PIHA KAHETTA” the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). Like the old classical examples it has a single edged short, heavy down curving blade, 7 ˝ inches long heavily decorated with brass inserts and with heavy brass bolsters. The grips are beautifully carved from ivory with dark, shining age patina. Brass covered grip strap and pommel cap. Total length is 10 ˝ inches. Very good condition.
