Up for sale this 19 C. fine Ottoman / Balkan (probably Albanian) big size Jambiya dagger, with 12 ½ inches blade forged from fine Sham (Low contrast watered steel). The blade is decorated with gold inlay work. Long handle cut entirely from a single piece of walrus ivory with extended pommel and cross guard corners, attributed to Albania. Wood scabbard covered with silver with filigree work. Total length 19 ½ inches (in scabbard). A bundle of colored stone beads is attached with silver chains to the rear belt loop on the back of the scabbard. Very impressive item.
