The Pedang Lurus is an Indonesian short sword, common in Java but can be found also in other Indonesian islands. This one is one of quality. The blade is 21inches almost straight with a slightly down curving double edge tip. It is forged from good pamor steel. The hilt is worked in silver in an elaborate design. The scabbard is wood covered with silver sheet chased in a very intricate design. Total length 22 ½ inches. Very good condition. Fine item, dated probably to the second half of the 19 C all original.
