We offer here for sale a very interesting Klewang sword / Machete from South Sumatra. Triangular shaped blade 14 inches long, widest (3 inches) at the tip. Wood hilt covered with thin engraved silver sheet. The spine of the blade is set with silver strips. Total Length 19 inches. A very similar Klewang sword is described in A. G. Van Zonneveld Traditional Weapons of the Indonesian Archipelago , P 70 Fig. 265. Good condition. Moderately pitted and well patinated blade. Part of the hilt’s silver cover is missing.
