Up for sale is this early, 18C. or earlier, very good “PIHA KAHETTA” the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). It has a single edged short heavy blade, 8 inches long with a down curving tip. Silver inlay on the blade and the bolster. Brass bolsters. Beautifully carved horn handle. Original wood scabbard with silver locket. Total length is 13 inches. Very good condition. . Blackened spots and patches of pitted areas. Pommel cover is missing.
