Fine Set of Qajar Armor - 11386


This fine set of armor is Persian, Qajar, late 19 C. It comprises of a shield (Dahl) an helmet (Kula Kud) and a hand armor (Bazu Band). All made of steel, finely pierced, chiseled and decorated with silver and gold koftgari work. All bear a face image (also known as Devil head) and decorated with red metal foil behind the piercing. Red (white in the bazu band) rear fabric cover. Shield 18 inches wide. Helmet 8 ½. Very good condition.Losses to the koftgari work. Lightly worn back fabrics. Handle missing. Very impressive and decorative set.
