This Billao dagger is mid 20 Century vintage and comes from the coastal people of Somalia. It has a classical but non-symmetrical leaf shape blade, 10 inches long, more than 2 inches wide. The handle is made of two sections of horn separated by layers of brass and steel. The pommel is of a typical three pronged shape made of steel as well. Beautifuly tooled hide scabbard.with leather belt. Very Good condition. A The belt attachment is partially torn and the buckle is missing. All part original no repairs or replacements.
