This Jambiya dagger of the Kurdish people is a very good exemplar. East Turkey, early – mid 19C. Double edged curved blade 8 ½ inches long, forged from Wootz (Watered, Damascus) steel. I shaped black wood grip with dome shaped filigree silver cups. White metal (later) scabbard. Total length 16 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Minor blackened spots on the blade. The silver domes on the handle may be a later addition
