Arab Knife / Dagger Shafra with Silver Handle - 11282

This knife is most probably a Shafra or Kusha. It is carried in attached to the rear side of the wide belt behind the Jambiya (Khanjar) dagger and found all over the Arabian peninsula in varying shapes. Here is an unusual example: The blade is 6 ½ inches long, slightly down curving and probably re shaped from an older utility knife . The grip is wood bound with silver wire and mounted with a chased silver pommel. Later wood scabbard. Total length 12 ½ inches. Very good condition. |
