This hide shield is Indian, mid 19 C., most probably from Rajhastan. It is made of heavy hide, probably Buffalo hide with shaped gold leafs and beautifully hand painted red, black and green. Four bosses (restored). Diameter 13 ½ inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the paint.
