From the late Qajar period, late 19 to early 20 C. Comes this Axe. A battle and/or ceremonial piece with finely chiseled lunette shaped blade, decorated with gold koftgari work. Finely silver inlaid blade tail in a styled monstrous shape. Blade length 8 ½ inches, width 5 inches. 32 inches steel haft etched to imitate twisted steel pattern and ending with a 5 inches square pike. Total length 37 inches. Very good condition. Very impressive axe.
