A small knife from the Philippines. The blade is 9” straight, heavy and single edge with a short 3” false edge – quite a common utility side knife in the Philippines. Unusual are the scabbard, made from bone and carved in a very intricate design and the hilt which is carved from a solid piece of horn in the shape of a seating monkey, a snake wrapped around it with its head at the monkey back and a turtle seating on the monkey head.
