Fine 19C. Ottoman Court Dagger - 11119

This fine dagger is also known as Court Dagger. It was a side arm of the nobilities visiting the courts of the Ottoman empire in the 18 and 19C. The blade is very well forged, lightly fullered, 13 ½ inches long and tapering to an acute tip with gold decoration at the top. The grips are elephant ivory with gilded silver grip strap and pommel cover set with corals and small turquoise stones. The scabbard is wood covered with very finely chased low silver with coral and turquoise stones set at the top. Very good condition. |
