This fine Yataghan sword is Turkish, mid 19 C. Very finely forged blade, twisted steel strips in a pattern known as Turkish ribbon. blade marked with maker mark. Silver bolsters and grip strap and ivory grips. Scabbard covered with red fabric (later) and mounted with nicely chased silver locket and chape. Blade 26 inches, total 32 inches. Very good condition. A very impressive Yataghan sword.
