Swords from the Timor Islands in Indonesia are quite scarce and sought after by collectors, especially the older ones. Here is a fine example of such a sword. The blade is heavy, widening toward the tip, 21 inches long, forged from fine laminated steel. The handle with the triangular shaped pommel is beautifully carved from dark hardwood and mounted with a chased silver collar. The wood scabbard is covered with silver bands. Total length 29 inches. Very good condition. Small dents to the silver. A fine rare sword.
