Very Good Omani Khanjar / Jambiya Dagger with Horn Hilt - 11058

A very good Arab Khnjar / Jambiya dagger, early 20 C. from Oman. It has a 6 ½ inches curved and dual edge well forged blade with a pronounced central rib made from steel strips riveted to the blade. The grip is horn decorated with a silver front panel and mounted with a chased silver collar with gilded strip. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather elaborately embroidered with silver strips and wires, and mounted with chased silver locket and gilded strip en suite with the hilt mounts. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of four rings and twisted silver wire. Total length is 12 inches. Very good condition. |
