This style of knife from Sumatra is also known as Tumbok Lada and it is characterized by the short massive blade and handle. This specific one is a very good exemplar. Massive, 9 ½ inches long, 12 mm (1/2 inch) thick blade. Short wide black horn handle with engraved silver mounts and very good age patina. Wood scabbard with silver bands and the down extending horn mouth and horn tip. Total length 13 1/2. Very good condition. Very impressive knife.
