Up for sale is this early, 18C. or earlier, fine “PIHA KAHETTA” the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). It has a single edged short heavy blade, 9 inches long with a heavy brass bolster. The grips are beautifully carved from ivory with dark, shining age patina. Silver pommel cover. Total length is 13 inches. Very good condition. Blackened spots and minor patches of pitted areas.
