Fine Dagger of the Ambo (Ovambo), Angola. - 11010

This fine dagger is from the Ambo People (also known as Ovambo) from Angola and Namibia. The finely forged blade of flat diamond cross section is 10 inches long. The handle and the scabbard are hardwood of very dark color and fine age patina. The scabbard is carved from a solid piece of wood partially opened in the front to reveal the blade. Total length 13 inches. Very good condition. Old crack at the bottom of the scabbard is reinforced with a bound rattan strip. |
