This heavy short knife has a blade of 8 inches, finely fullered and marked with deep marking on its left face. Steel bolsters. The handle is a massive piece of elephant ivory decorated with engraved circles painted red. Original wood scabbard with hide cover. Total length15 inches. Very good condition. Excellent age patina on the ivory suggesting an old age, probably mid 19 C. The Afghani attribution is suggested from the style of similar decoration found on other Afghani articles.
