The Pulwar is the Afghan relative of the Indian Tulwar. The Pulwar hilt has a very distinct shape, with down curving quillons. The one offered here for sale is a very good heavy fighting sword, with well forged and nicely fullered steel blade, 32 inches long, with an 8 inches raised back edge. The blade is engraved with maker signs and inscriptions on its face and on the spine. The steel handle is of classical shape with a half ball shaped pommel. Total length 37 inches. Very good condition. This sword has seen some actions and there are some edge nicks from sword blows. Very good fighting sword.
