This Jambiya dagger is from the Balkan region of the ottoman empire, may be Albania, mid 19 C. Good blade well forged from Sham steel (Low contrast wootz steel) 13 inches long, with medial ridge and Arabic inscription in gold inlay work. Whole silver handle and scabbard, with a silver proof mark (Tughra ) on the back of the scabbard. Total length 21 inches. Very good condition of scabbard and handle. A good polish is needed for the blade which is unfortunately scratched.
