This very fine Tulwar sword is Indian, probably North India, early 19 C. or about. Very fine blade, deadly sharp, forged from pattern welded steel 32 inches long with 11 inches long raised back edge. The blade is stamped with a maker mark below the langet. Steel hilt forged from wootz steel and finely decorated with gold inlay. Leather covered original scabbard with steel mounts with gold inlay decoration. Total length 38 inches. Very good condition. Minor external damages to the leather cover of the scabbard.
