This fine Shamshir is Indian, 18 C. or about, employing a Persian (??) made wootz blade, single edge 28 inches long with traces of maker stamp. Elephant ivory, Tulwar style handle. Total length 32 inches. Very good condition. Good age patina on the handle. Old repaired crack on the pommel. Fine piece. Rare ivory handle.
