An old probably 18C. hooded version of the famous Kattar. It has a multi fullered blade 14 inches long forged from good Indian wootz steel. The cross bars are shaped like small balls with side arms connected to the main side bars. The handle is protected with a steel hood decorated along its edges with silver cover and terminating in a monster head shaped tip. Bothe the side bars and the steel reinforcement plates on the blade are also covered with thin silver layer with some traces of gold wash. Total length 19 inches. Very good condition. One of the cross bars is missing.
