This bronze sword handle is coming from Amarlu, Northern iran, 1000 -1100 B.C. The mushroom shape pommel and down curving quillons are very typical to swords from this area. Many of these swords are whole bronze. This one had an iron blade (now entirely corroded). Length 7 inches. Very good excavated condition with fine smooth untouched age patina. An age crack on one side of the down curving quillon.
