Very Fine Enameled Moroccan Nimcha Sword Dated 1306 (1888), Complete with Scabbard - 10850


From our private collection we offer for sale is this rare and very fine Nimcha sword from Morocco, employing a very good blade, 35 ½ inches long richly decorated with gold and dated 1306 (1888 in the Gregorian calendar). The handle is carved from a massive piece of rhino horn with clear fibrous structure set with enameled silver collar in blue and green colors. The hilt guard and down curving quillons are steel also richly decorated with gold koftgari work. The scabbard is wood covered with the original green velvet and mounted with long silver locket and chape finely enameled in green and blue colors, as in the grip collar. Total length 41 ½ inches. Very good condition. A very fine piece of high quality.
