Yatagan with Damascus Blade - 6095

A good example of a classical “YATAGAN”. This specific example is of Turkish origin, but was re-hilted probably by an Arab owner with an Arab style decoration. The 23 inches long blade is finely forged from pattern welded (Damascus) steel in the pattern known as Turkish Ribbon and stamped with a maker sign. The grips with the side ears are carved from dark horn and set with many brass nails (as common in various Arab swords/daggers hilts. The blade collar and the grip strap are brass. Good plus condition. Minor damage to the grips and few brass nails are missing. A very nice example at a very reasonable price. |
