The Barongs heavy leaf shaped blades are known to have superior cutting abilities. This one is a good old Moro Barong, with a pattern welded (Damascus) blade, 17 inches long (longer than the usual 14 inches blades). The blade has a swollen cross section and a false edge (Very rare version). The hilt is carved from a beautiful grained wood in a very classical form, with a long silver collar and three braided rattan bands. The scabbard is wood bound with Rattan bands connected in crosses pattern and set with a pieces of Blue/Green Mother of Pearl. The scabbard retained part of the rope like belt used to carry it, with a big button at the end. Total length 26 inches. Very good condition. Altogether a very impressive piece of weaponry.
