Pesh kabz with Jade Hilt - 5517


This “PESH-KABZ is a fine 18 C. example coming probably from North India. The blade is 11” long, slender, of a “T” cross-section and longer than usual similar items. It is forged from Indian wootz steel (crystalline). The grip is carved from a single solid piece of dark green jade set with a small turquoise stone at the pommel The bolsters are steel. Total length is 15 ½”. Blade is in good condition, but with a forge fault in the middle of the blade. This is a fine, beautiful, unusual item and a treasured addition to your collection of Oriental weapons at a reasonable price considering its quality.
