A Shamshir, the Eastern saber that for centuries enchanted the world and was copied in practically all armies of the western world. A light, deeply curved, wedge shape blade of minimal and simple design and yet a lethal slashing weapon in the experienced hand. Here we offer for sale a classical Shamshir sword, with a fine Persian 18 C. wootz blade, marked with a maker stamp and the Persian lion stamp. Bone grips bound with twisted silver wire to reinforce the cross guard in position (later addition?) Down curving steel pommel and steel cross-guard. Blade 31 inches, 6total 36. Very good condition. No scabbard.
