We offer here for sale a fine old. mid 19 C. Sewar dagger / knife from central Sumatra. The Sewar is characterized by its heavy blade, by the massive grip shape and specifically by the down extending protrusion from the scabbard mouth. Here the blade is 10 inches long and of unusual spear shape with short central fullers and steel bolster. The grip is a sandwich of ivory and horn separators with gilded copper collar. The scabbard s wood down pointing protrusion wit chased silver cover and silver bands. Total length in scabbard 14 inches. Very good condition. Good age patina on the blade and the grip. Few silver bands of the scabbard are missing. A fine high quality piece.
