Fine Arab Knife / Dagger Shafra with Silver Handle - 10786

This small knife is called in Arabic as Shafra or Kusha. It is carried in attached to the rear side of the wide belt behind the Jambiya (Khanjar) dagger and found all over the Arabian peninsula in varying shapes. Here is a fine example: The blade is 6 inches long, down curving with a T spine, probably made from an old file. The grip is finely chiseled and engraved. Total length 10 inches. Original leather covered scabbard. Very good plus condition. It should be noted here that several sources (Stone, Egerton and others) identify this type of knife as Nepali, probably due to the blade shape and curvature.
