This fine, small axe is also known as Tabarzine, or saddle axe. The heavy blade is 2 1/2 inches wide, 3 1/2 inches tall, forged from very good steel. The handle is made of a central steel haft with ebony grips, 16 inches long riveted to the tang with silded rivets. The blade is very richly decorated with gold koftgari work and so are the side edges of the haft and the steel tip. Very good condition. Good age patina on the blade and on the ebony grips. Minor losses to the koftgari decoration on the blade.
