This early Qama is Georgian, dated on the scabbard to 1261 (1845 in the Gregorian calendar). Good blade 16 ½ inches long 2 ½ inches wide with maker marks. Massive single piece horn handle with silver rosettes covers on the rivets (one missing). Wood scabbard with tooled leather cover, steel belt band and heavy steel chape. Nielloed silver locktet. Total length 22 ½ inches. Very good condition. Very impressive Qama.
