Very Unusual Sword from Spanish (?) Morocco - 6083

This curious sword is probably of North African origin. The strong Spanish influence suggest a Spanish Morocco origin. The blade is 33 inches long, single edge and marked with a series of markings on the heel. The handle is horn layers with brass separators riveted to the tang with brass rivets and decorated with many brass nails on both top and bottom sides. Steel cross guard and D guard. No scabbard. Good condition with minor pitted area near the tip. A very interesting and uncommon sword. |
