Up for sale is this very fine three parts of Char Aina armor, Persia 18 C., including back plate and two side plates with buckles and leather straps. The plates are forged from fine Wootz (Damascus, watered) steel of good contrast and richly decorated with verses from the Quran in gold koftgari inlay. One of the side plates maintained its original intact inner cushion. Back plate: 11 ½ X 9 ½ inches, Side plates: 9 X 7 inches. Very good condition. Some losses to the gold decoration and to the leather straps. Minor cracks in the steel. A rare and fine set.
