Up for sale is this very fine breast plate, part of Char Aina armor, India 18 C. The inner part of the plate is forged from fine Wootz (Damascus, watered ) steel of good contrast. The outer parts of plain steel. The plate comes with its original four buckles for leather strips. Finely etched central medallion with classical floral design in gold inlaid borders while the sides are etched with inscriptions in Arabic letters. Original intact inner cushion. 7 X 9 ½ inches. Very good plus condition. The small size and the quality suggests it is part of an armor belonged to a princely youngster
